Tesla CEO Elon Musk is an interesting man, one of innovation, fascination and pure genius. His latest news comes on the part of Tesla’s upcoming electric car, the Model 3. The Model 3 is the companies test into the affordable market, and this one is just that-affordable.
Musk has announced that the car will start out at $35,000 MSRP. However, he has taken to twitter to announce that the affordable Tesla (affordable speaking volumes in terms of Tesla’s other models) will be even cheaper after extensive rebates and taxes.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk has announced on Twitter that Model 3 reservations will be accepted starting on March 31 in Tesla stores and online on April 1. All reservations will require a $1,000 deposit (the Model S requires a $2,500 deposit and the Model X requires a $5,000 deposit). Unlike Model S and Model X, no Signature series will be made.
Bloomberg went as far as to say that the vehicle will have a $10,000 rebate, enough to make this vehicle down to an impressive $25,000. The base price of the Model 3 is already half the MSRP of the Model S. This move by Musk and Tesla is not only incredibly daring, but impressive as well.
Reservations begin in stores March 31st.
