Yo, gamers! Want to have a reason to stay inside playing games, mentally immersed in the digital world, speak to 0 humans, see no sunlight, AND toss your arms about in frustration?!
What? You already do that? Well, how about you cash up 400 smackaroonies, strap on the PlayStation VR headset and continue doing what you do?
Sony’s very anticipated (and predicted winner of the VR War) has finally hit store shelves, and just in time for the holiday season. Unlike its competitors, the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift which have the price range of $800 and up, the PSVR will be selling for half the price, $399.99.
However, unless you also own the PlayStation Move Motion Controllers and the PlayStation Camera then you won’t be getting much from just owning the PlayStation VR headset. It will however look really nice displayed high up on a mantle.
In order to get the complete PSVR experience, you will need to buy all 3 components. Thankfully, you can buy the entire set plus Batman Arkham VR for $529.99 from GameStop.
If Batman isn’t your thing, then PlayStation has a pretty big catalog of games to choose from, including some exclusives like Rez Infinite, Driveclub VR, PlayStation VR Worlds, and Rigs Mechanized Combat League.
Of course, after forking up $400-$580 for the whole setup, spending more on some games probably won’t be your first thought. Sony has got you covered though, with both The Playroom being made available for free to all PSVR owners and an 18 game demo disc coming with any purchase of the headset, you’ll surely find something to take up your time.
Demo Disc includes:
- DriveClub VR
- Eve: Valkyrie
- Harmonix Music VR
- Here They Lie
- Job Simulator
- PlayStation VR Worlds
- Resident Evil 7 biohazard — Kitchen Teaser
- Rez Infinite
- Rigs Mechanized Combat League
- Tumble VR
- Until Dawn: Rush of Blood
- Wayward Sky
