After being introduced in the MCU through Daredevil to mostly rave reviews, Jon Bernthal’s portrayal of the Punisher reinvigorated the character’s appeal; although, he did always have the coolest superhero logo.
Netflix released a teaser this morning that featured the made up nursery rhyme from Frank Castle’s back story in Daredevil. In the show, he cites the nursery rhyme every time he kills an enemy to keep him connected to why he kills; to avenge the murder of his family.
The Punisher series will mark the fifth Marvel character series produced by Netflix in the last two years following Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and the upcoming Luke Cage, and Iron Fist. Before The Punisher’s series, Netflix will also release The Defenders, featuring all of their other series characters forming a team.
