Pacific Rim’s Director Guillermo del Toro (Crimson Peak) has went to Twitter to announce that the script and budget are in for his apocalyptic robot sci-fi epic!
PACIFIC RIM 2: Budget and script went in. No answers yet. If anything happens, I will post. If nothing happens, I will just keep rambling.

The sequel to the underwhelming Pacific Rim has been on hold for quite a while. Originally, the film was put on a bit of a delay. Then, a few months later, it was announced the film series was put on indefinite hold with no time frame.
Del Toro has since told multiple sources that this is simply not true and the sequel has not been scrapped yet.
Is it possible that Del Toro might be getting his hopes up on this film series? Quite possibly. Unfortunately for Del Toro, despite him being a pretty solid Director (at least visually speaking) his films never perform where it matters, financially. Both Hellboys were loved by fans and critics alike, but did not bring in the masses(ie cash).
Pacific Rim only did $37 million its opening weekend to fall to a total $101 million domestic (over $400 million worldwide). This was on a rather large $190 million dollar budget. It is safe to say there is a reason why Warner Bros is a bit hesitant to go forth with another sequel.
